What this site keeps when you get in touch, why, and how to have it deleted.

Who is responsible

zuoshi is the trading name of Steve Jarvis, a sole trader in Oswestry, Shropshire. Steve is responsible for your information under UK data protection law. You can reach him at hello@zuoshi.co.uk.

What is kept when you send an enquiry

Your name, your email address, and what you tell me about the job: what you need, a rough budget and your message. To stop one machine sending hundreds of messages, the site also keeps a scrambled one-way code made from your internet address, with a count of tries. It can’t be turned back into your address.

Why

To reply to you, to talk about the work and to send a quote. The legal basis is taking steps you asked for before a contract. Nothing you send is sold, shared for anyone else’s marketing, or added to a mailing list.

Where it is kept

The site runs on Vercel. The count of tries is kept on a database run by Neon, hosted in London. Enquiries are delivered to my inbox by Resend, which handles your details only to deliver them. The inbox is on Zoho Mail, on its European servers.

How long

Old counts of tries hold only the scrambled code and a number. If no work follows an enquiry, it is deleted after four weeks. If we work together, what you send becomes part of the project records.

Your rights

You can ask to see what I hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, at any time, by writing to the address above. If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and visit counts

This site sets no cookies for visitors. Visits are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and without identifying you: it sees the page you looked at, the site that sent you, and your country, browser and type of device.
